Embedded Institutes: Experience the Conference with a Cohort of Colleagues

Member Rate: $799

Move through the conference with a group of colleagues with shared interests and perspectives. Embedded Institutes begin with a three-four hour session on the afternoon of Sunday, March 20, 2016. The three Embedded Institutes are:

  • Diving In: Campus Compact’s Institute for New Civic and Community Engagement Practitioners
    This Embedded Institute is designed for new civic learning and community engagement practitioners. It aims to provide a professional development opportunity to acquire knowledge, build skills, engage with colleagues, and reflect on topics that will enable those involved with competence, confidence, and support in future community or civic engagement related work. The institute uses Campus Compact’s Looking In, Reaching Out publication as a framework.
  • Diving Deep: Campus Compact’s Institute for Experienced Civic and Community Engagement Practitioners – SOLD OUT!
    This Embedded Institute is designed for experienced practitioners interested in exploring new territories, surfacing assumptions, and exploring on a deeper, personal level, what it means to be a leader and professional in civic and community engagement work. The institute aims to inspire, encourage, renew, and motivate participants by providing a space to share experiences and explore challenging situations. Institute topics may include: strengthening the ability to foster and deepen campus engagement with community, exploring how participants can shape the future of the field, and more.
  • Libraries and the Public Purposes of Higher Education
    This Embedded Institute is for everyone interested in current and potential partnerships among academic librarians, faculty who teach service learning courses, service learning professionals, and community partners. The Embedded Institute is designed to facilitate the sharing of research, ideas, perspectives, and best practices in library engagement with/in academic service learning.

All conference general sessions, Embedded Institutes, workshops, and exhibits will be held at the Sheraton Boston Hotel unless otherwise noted.

Change and Cancellation Policy

Should you need to cancel, please email Lauren Cramer at lcramer {at} uie(.)com. If you cancel before January 31, 2016, you will receive a full refund less a $100 cancellation fee. After January 31, 2016, we are unable to offer a refund. Email lcramer {at} uie(.)com as soon as you know you need to cancel.

Send Someone in your Place
